Las Piñatas

It's that time of the year, Navidad, when Spanish 1 students begin one of their favorite projects, constructing piñatas. Here are some photos of the beginning stages:

Alfonso and Nacho working on the Magic Bus

Alberto and Javier making a jalapeño

Amalia and Chiquita working on Hello, Kitty

Victoria, Claudia, Elena, and Lucia gluing the muffin together.

More pictures as things progress.

¡¡FELIZ NAVIDAD!!

Nuestros amigos

Spanish 1 students have been busy learning how to describe things. Their latest project dealt with their amigos, or friends, and what they were like. They had to design a powerpoint about their friends and narrate it. Here are a couple of examples, the first by Victoria and the second by Alfonso:

Las estaciones y el tiempo

Spanish 1 students spent some time learning the months and the seasons as well as talking about the weather. We made audition tapes to see who would be the new meteorologist at Tele CFHS (our imaginary TV station). Congrats to Alberto for being voted the best. We also made books about the seasons and weather and the activities that we like to do during each season. Some students made their books in the form of animated power points, and some made pop-up books. Here are some samples.

Pop-up Book: (by Margarita) Just click on the arrow to load. When viewing the book, click on the ! to read. Click on the black tab in the middle of the page to turn and rotate the book to see what might be hidden.

Power Point: (by Nacho)(Sorry, but some of the Spanish accent marks do not work properly in the mode we had to use to embed it here.)
