Las estaciones y el tiempo

Spanish 1 students spent some time learning the months and the seasons as well as talking about the weather. We made audition tapes to see who would be the new meteorologist at Tele CFHS (our imaginary TV station). Congrats to Alberto for being voted the best. We also made books about the seasons and weather and the activities that we like to do during each season. Some students made their books in the form of animated power points, and some made pop-up books. Here are some samples.

El día del los muertos

El día de los muertos--the day of the dead, a day for honoring and remembering family members who have passed away. We learned a little about this Mexican custom/holiday. Since one of the major decorations on this day is skeletons and skulls, Spanish I students decorated paper skulls. It was a great way for students to express their individuality, as each one ended up very different. Here are a few examples:
